Today’s Video of the Day from the American Chemical Society describes the different fabrics that make some clothes safe to wash at home while others are dry clean only.

Clothing fibers are either synthetic, plant based, or animal based. The chemical composition of these fibers will respond to cleaning methods differently, and understanding how these chemicals will react to water is key to safely washing and drying your clothes.
