Aphomia fulminalis

Description

Aphomia fulminalis is a species of snout moth in the genus Aphomia. It was described by Zeller in 1872, and is known from the United States, where it has been recorded from Arizona, Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Mississippi, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas and Nova Scotia. Aphomia is a genus of small moths belonging to the family Pyralidae. Some breed in the nests of Anthophila (bees and bumblebees), where their caterpillars are parasitic feeders of wax, honey and pollen.
