Description

Mirza coquereli is a species of lemur habits nocturnal belonging to the family Cheirogaleidae and endemic to Madagascar.The species was named after the French entomologist Charles Coquerel.This lemur can be found in the deciduous forests of Madagascar.Unlike other hibernating lemurs,this lemur is active throughout the year feeding on Homoptera larvae to survive.It is a tree species that feeds on fruits,flowers and small animals,such as insects and spiders.Coquerel's lemur has as its main predator the owls.This species was,until 2005,the only one of the genus Mirza,being in that year discovered and described a second species: M.zaza.
