The mountain pigeon of Granada ( Leptotila wellsi ) is a species of columbiform bird of the family Columbidaees endemic of Granada,island of the Lesser Antilles.It is the national bird of Granada.It is considered one of the most critically threatened pigeons in the world (BirdLife International).The mountain pigeon of Granada is characterized by the white throat,face and forehead of pale pink color that darkens to dark chestnut on the crown and nape of the neck.The neck and the upper part of the chest of pinkish color that lightens to white in the lower part of the chest,the belly and the coverts under the wings.
