(Stathmopoda skelloni)

Description

Stathmopoda skelloni is a species of moth in the Stathmopodidae family. It was described by Arthur Gardiner Butler in 1880. It is endemic to New Zealand. The name skelloni was previously incorrectly used for S. horticola, a similar looking species which can be distinguished by the more extensive markings on the forewing of that species. S. skelloni is found in a variety of habitats including native forest, coastal dunes, shrubland as well as cultivated gardens and orchards.
