Description

Cryptoblabes hemigypsa is a species of snout moth in the genus Cryptoblabes. It was described by Turner in 1913, and is known from Australia. Adults are grey with three wavy dark stripes near the tip of forewing which join to form "V" shaped marks. The larvae feed on Macadamia integrifolia and Grevillea species. They initially feed inside the flower buds, and are considered to be a pest. Later, they feed on the outside of the buds and flowers. Pupation takes place in a silken cocoon amongst leaf litter.
