(Aquila adalberti)
The Iberian Imperial Eagle ( Aquila adalberti ) is an endemic species in the southeastern Iberian Peninsula and northern Morocco.Until recently,it was considered a subspecies of the Imperial Eagle ( Aquila heliaca ),but the DNA study of both bird species has shown that they are sufficiently separate to constitute two distinct species. The Iberian Imperial Eagle is in danger of extinction. The penis is very dark on the whole body, except for the shoulders and the high parts of the wings that are white. The muzzle is slightly pale, with no light lines like the Oriental Imperial Eagle. In the case of young individuals, they are grayish-red,do not penetrate mature individuals up to 5 years at the same time as sexual maturation. The average size of an adult is 80 cm high and 2.8 kg,females are larger than males and can reach 3.5 kg.The wingspan ranges between 1.9 and 2.2 m.They live in cherry oak forests ( Quercus suber ) and rock oak ( Quercus ilex ) with open fields nearby. The food consists of: rabbits, foxes, rodents, pigeons, ravens and other birds.Feeds are smaller than the golden eagle.Unlike Eagle Imperial the Eurasian and East Africa,Iberian species does not migrate. Each pair shows their territory (about 2000 hectares) all year round.
