(Cephalophus spadix)
The Abbott's duiker ( Cephalophus spadix True,1890 ),also known as Minde in Swahili,is a big duiker forest spread only in a few enclaves in Tanzania;in the past it was considered a subspecies of the yellow backed cephalopop.Very elusive,it was photographed for the first time in its natural habitat in 2003,thanks to the use of a photographic trap 97-140 cm long,with a tail of 8-13 cm and a weight of 50-60 kg,Abbott's cephalopody has a stocky body,with short massive legs,a sturdy neck and a shining coat of variable color between brown brown.dark and black,sometimes with a reddish tinge on the abdomen and hips.The face is a lighter gray color,while between the horns,pointed and quite short,there is a long and characteristic tuft of reddish brown hair.
