Description

It measures 46 1 to 50 cm in length.Crest and nape bright black,front with white stripes;upper part of the back and black underparts with cream stripes;lower part of the brown back with fine black lines;blackish brown rump;the cream-colored flanks;wings with purplish-brown coverts,inner and secondary pimples of deep purple-red color with internal black vexils;The central feathers of the tail are bright green,the outer purple rectrices and the black coverts.It has blue naked skin around the eye;dark brown iris: The bill is blackish above and bone-colored below and near the tip.The legs are bluish gray.
