Description

The shape of the body is typical of that of the family Cyprinidae : compressed to the hips,with a rather high back and belly pronounced in adulthood.Young people are more threadlike.The rudder has large scales with magnificent silver reflections,just like its livery,which also sees the back and sides of the golden reflections,while the belly is almost white.The fins in adults are red.It reaches a length of 50 cm and a life expectancy of over 18 years.The Scardola ( Scardinius erythrophthalmus Linnaeus,1758 ) is a freshwater fish belonging to the family Cyprinidae.
