Description

The boquiancho shark or wide-mouth shark ( Megachasma pelagios ) is a species of lamniform elasmobranch of the family Lamnidae.It is an unusual and very rare species that was discovered in 1976,when the first known specimen reached the beaches of Hawaii.Its scientific description as a new species was published in 1983 by Taylor,Compagno and Struhsaker.
