Description

The bee-eater is about 18-20 cm long.It is a slender and colorful bird like the rest of bee-eaters but lacks the two elongated feathers in the center of the tail that have most of their congeners.The entire top of his head,back of the neck and mantle is reddish brown.Its wings and tail are predominantly green and its rump is bright blue.The lower part of the head is yellow and has a black list that separates the two colored areas from the head.Framing the throat presents another list,chestnut on the top and black on the bottom.The rest of its chest is yellowish green and its belly is light bluish green.Its bill is black and slightly curved down and its legs are blackish
