Description

The Japanese badger ( Meles anakuma ) is a carnivorous species of the Mustelidae family.It is endemic to Japan and can be found in the regions of: Honshu,Kyushu,Shikoku and Shodoshima.She shares the genus Meles with the Asian badgers and European badgers.Badgers are small (average 79 cm for males and 72 cm for females) The length of the tail is between 14 cm and 20 cm.Adults usually weigh between 4 and 8.Their trunk is blunt and the limbs are short,the front legs are equipped with powerful digging claws and the hind legs are smaller than the front legs.The top coat has a long brownish gray hair.The face has white and brown stripes,but they are not so different from those of the European badger.The black color is concentrated around your eyes and the skull is smaller than the European badger.
