(Callicebus barbarabrownae)
Callicebus barbarabrownae is a species of guigó,that is,of the New World monkey of the family Pitheciidae and subfamily Callicebinae.It occurs in the highest areas of the coast of Bahia,Brazil,between the Paraguaçu River and the Itapicuru River.It has been widely distributed in the forests south of the São Francisco River,but currently occurs only in interior regions in the Caatinga and there are only 250 individuals in freedom.It has a forehead and black tufts on the ears,with white hairs on the cheeks and the rest of the body,with a reddish brown tail.
