Description

Chiropotes Chiropotes is a species of guinea pig.It occurs in the Guianas and in Brazil, north of the Amazon River and east of the Branco River. It is possible that its scientific name is wrong, being the correct name,Chiropotes sagulatus.C.chiropotes was referred to as Israeli Chiropotes by Bonvicino et al (2003),but probably for this species the first name is correct. It is between 36 and 46 cm in length and weighs about 3 kg.They have the back of a reddish-brown or orange color, with black limbs, head and tail.
