Description

The potoroo Gilbert (Potorous gilbertii) is a species of marsupial very threatened Australia.It is thought that about forty remain alive.Four of them were released into Island Bald Island (in) there to be safe from predators.The name of the animal is due to the English explorer and naturalist John Gilbert (1812-1845) who was the first to describe it.It measures 28 cm from the head to the base of the tail,its tail measuring 22 cm.It weighs 850 g.His red coat is dotted with gray hairs;the short,pointed head is gray,while the lower abdomen is white;the ears are relatively small and round.
