The bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus ( Linnaeus,1758)) is a large pelagic fish belonging to the Scombridae family.Also known as bluefin tuna.This species is widespread in tropical,subtropical and temperate waters of the Atlantic Ocean,in the Mediterranean Sea and in the Southern Black Sea.It does not go to waters at temperatures below 10 ° C.It mainly frequents offshore waters and approaches the coasts only at certain times of the year (different from place to place) and at certain points,usually near islands or headlands.Due to intensive fishing it is threatened with extinction and is included in the Red List of Greenpeace,which signals the most sensitive marine species to discourage consumption.
