Earth Day: Act On Climate Change

09-01-2016

Earth Day: Act On Climate Change This Earth Day, EPA is focusing on action on climate change. Many families, communities, businesses, and states are already taking action to reduce carbon pollution and protect themselves and their property from the risks caused by climate change.

One of the most powerful things you can do is educate yourself about climate change and talk to your friends and neighbors about the challenge we face. Visit http://epa.gov/earthday during the month of April to learn easy ways to cut carbon pollution in your daily life. When do the days start getting long … is considered to be the first day of the astronomical winter season it can also be known as midwinter, because the days get longer after it has passed.

The solstice usually — but not always — takes place on December 21. The time that the solstice occurs shifts every year because the solar year (the time it takes for the sun to reappear in the same spot as seen from Earth) doesn’t exactly match up to our calendar year. Earth Day is an annual celebration that honors the achievements of the environmental movement and raises awareness of the need to protect Earth’s natural resources for future generations. Earth Day: Act On Climate Change as shown above also shows the changes taking places due to golbal warming.
