Earth from Space: Rome, Italy

04-23-2017

Today’s Video of the Day comes from the European Space Agency’s Earth from Space series and features a look at Rome, Italy. The photos were taken from the Sentinel-2 satellite.

The Tiber River can be seen winding down into Rome from the north, surrounded by agricultural fields. The river then curves west before finally draining into the Mediterranean Sea.

Just up the coastline sits the port of Civitavecchia, which is a primary point of ferry connection to many Mediterranean islands, including Sardinia and Sicily.
