The Emi Koussi volcano in northern Chad

Today’s Video of the Day comes from the European Space Agency’s Earth from Space series and features a look at the Emi Koussi volcano located in the northern part of Chad.

Emi Koussi is classified as shield volcano and can be found on the southeast tip of the Tibesti Mountains. It is the tallest mountain in the Sahara Desert, reaching 11,302 feet in elevation.

These images were captured by the Copernicus Sentinel-2B satellite.
