Earth from space: northeastern Europe

09-29-2017

Today’s Video of the Day comes from the European Space Agency’s Earth from Space series and features a look at northeastern Europe.

The images were captured by the Copernicus Sentinel-3 satellite and showcase the deep blue Baltic Sea and surrounding region. The images were captured in March 2017 and include large areas covered with snow and ice.

In the center of the image is Finland, which is known as the “land of a thousand lakes,” most of which were frozen over at the time the photos were taken.
