Our words help to fight the climate crisis

Our words help to fight the climate crisis Today’s Video of the Day from The Sanders Institute explains why one of the most powerful tools that we have to address climate change is the language that we use to talk about it.

According to Sanders Institute Founding Fellow Bill McKibben, terms such as climate change and global warming are no longer strong enough to describe the full-blown climate crisis that we are experiencing.

McKibben says that the media has a responsibility to cover the scientific facts behind the climate crisis. He points out that climate change deniers do not deserve the share of media coverage that should be given to the 97 percent of scientists who conclusively agree that human activities, particularly the burning of fossil fuels, are causing extreme weather and intensifying natural disasters.
