One year of photos from the International Space Station

01-26-2018

One year of photos from the International Space Station Today’s Video of the Day comes from NASA and features a look at the best photos taken from the International Space Station in 2017.

Astronauts on board the International Space Station get to witness some of the most breathtaking views of planet Earth and capture photos on a daily basis.

The team at the Earth Science and Remote Sensing Unit at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston has assembled the very best of these photos taken last year in 4K. Some amateur astronomers also use telescopic lenses to photograph the ISS while it transits the Sun, sometimes doing so during an eclipse.

In November, we celebrated the 20th year of continuous human presence aboard the space station, which so far has hosted 242 people and more than 3,000 science experiments. During the past year, research has ranged from growing radishes in microgravity to capturing 360-degree footage of life aboard station to monitoring our planet.
