The Sierra Madera impact crater in western Texas

11-20-2017

Today’s Video of the Day comes from the European Space Agency’s Earth from Space series and features a look at the Sierra Madera impact crater in western Texas.

While most of the area appears relatively colorless due to sparse vegetation, agricultural circles can be seen thriving thanks to central pivot irrigation systems.

These images were captured the Sentinel-2 satellite, the color vision satellite mission for Europe’s Copernicus environmental monitoring program.
