The Mars Trace Gas Orbiter

06-03-2019

The Mars Trace Gas Orbiter Today’s Video of the Day from the European Space Agency describes the Mars Trace Gas Orbiter (TGO), which provides scientists with data directly from rovers that are located on the surface of Mars.

As it circles the planet every two hours, the TGO is also collecting its own data. The orbiter captures pictures of the surface of Mars, as well as measurements of its atmosphere.

According to the ESA, the TGO will be the primary relay for the ExoMars mission in 2021.
