Using farmers as citizen scientists

02-24-2019

Today’s Video of the Day from Bioversity International describes a new approach to selecting crops that are the most well-suited for certain climates.

The experiment involves farmers who act as citizen scientists by reporting on which crop varieties perform the best on their farm. This information is then linked to soil and climate data.

The approach is called triadic comparisons of technologies, or tricot.
