It is a federally listed threatened species of the United States. found within a narrow range of clear, moderately flowing rivers and creeks in Georgia , Alabama , Mississippi and Tennessee . In Georgia it has been found in the Conasuaga, Coosa , Etowah and Chattooga Rivers .
