Bowknot Bend in Eastern Utah • Earth.com • Earth Image Gallery

Bowknot Bend refers to the section of the Green River that strangely loops around back on itself for 9 miles before once again shifting course. The water appears so dark because it lies 1,000 feet below the surrounding landscape. Today’s Image of the Day comes thanks to the NASA Earth Observatory and features a look at Bowknot Bend in eastern Utah.
