Integration and Testing of the GPM Core Observatory. Engineers are building and testing the GPM Core Observatory at Goddard Space Flight Center.

Each time a new component is added to the spacecraft, rigorous testing is conducted to ensure the new components operate correctly and work effectively with existing systems.

The Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) is a major NASA space research laboratory. It is located approximately 6.5 miles (10.5 km) northeast of Washington, D.C. Therefore in unincorporated Prince George’s County, Maryland, United States. Also Established on May 1, 1959 as NASA’s first space flight center, GSFC employs approximately 10,000 civil servants and contractors. Although It is one of ten major NASA field centers, named in recognition of American rocket propulsion pioneer Dr. Robert H. Goddard.
