Their Vibrations

In India’s far south, there is a river called Urulanthanni. The noble elephants live in lush woodlands on both sides of the river. The locals have formed friendships with the giants, but they know to keep their distance from them.

The vibrations produced by a moving herd could be compared to those produced by a passing train. Residents describe the experience as exciting, noting that the elephants appear to plan their paths and stroll together purposefully. Photo Credit: Credits
