Monterey Bay filled with sediment from rivers

The Monterey Bay sediment is seen here being filled from the Salinas and Pajaro rivers. The photo was taken by the Advanced Land Imager (ALI) on NASA’s Earth Observing-1 satellite. Sediment picked up by the rivers was carried along until it poured out into the Monterey Bay.
