Navajo dancers - Earth.com

These three impressively costumed figures are Yebichai dancers of the Navajo people. The Yebichai were mythical figures who, as legend has it, created the Navajo and instructed them on how to live harmoniously with their world. As for the Navajo ceremonies themselves? They typically involved prolonged rounds of singing as well as the occasional large-scale circle dance. Photo Credit: Edward S. Curtis
