Today’s Video of the Day comes from the American Chemical Society’s Reactions series and investigates whether or not low-carb diets are actually effective.

While there are a seemingly endless number of low-carb diets available, this clip specifically examines ketogenic diets, which typically require people to consume under 50 grams of carbohydrates per day.

The theory is that eating a very small amount of carbs will force your body to totally overhaul its method of energy production… but does it really work?
