Warming oceans means bad news for sushi lovers


Today’s Video of the Day comes from the University of California, San Diego and features a look at how warming ocean waters will impact sushi menus.

Most sushi lovers are familiar with uni, a rich creamy substance that is full of flavor. Uni comes from large red sea urchins that are caught off the coast of California.

But as ocean temperatures increase and acidify due to climate change, red sea urchins are under threat. But luckily, scientists have discovered a possible replacement source of uni.
