Today’s Image of the Day comes thanks to the NASA Earth Observatory and features a look at the Baritú National Park in Argentina.

Baritú National Park is located along the eastern side of the Andes mountains and contains vast tropical forests and waterfalls. The park was originally created in 1974 and covers approximately 280 square miles on the Bolivian border.

Baritú is home to several different endangered species who also face the additional threat of rapid deforestation.

This image was captured by the Operational Land Imager (OLI) on board the Landsat 8 satellite.
