Those hunters must have been persistent — and brave. You see, wolverines tend to hide from humans, and seeking them out definitely isn’t the safest idea. When hungry, the animals have no trouble taking down adult caribou or even grizzly bears. Fortunately for the researchers, these beasts didn’t seem to be hanging around Mount Rainier.
