It’s a good job, too, as wolverines can sense weakness. They’re opportunistic scavengers, which means they have the sensory skills and intelligence to selectively take down large prey with a physical disadvantage, such as an injury. And while no animal should be hunted to extinction, the lack of wolverines around Mount Rainier definitely made it a safer place for the other critters living there.
