Giant bloom in the Gulf of Maine signals change
Today's Image of the Day from NASA Earth Observatory features a large phytoplankton bloom in the Gulf of Maine. The image was captured on June 21, 2025, by the Ocean Color Instrument (OCI) on NASA’s PACE satellite. “In summer 2025, waters in the Gulf of Maine popped with vivid swirls of blue and green.
