Your world: our favorite instagram photos of the New7Wonders of the world

In 2000, a project was launched to determine the New7Wonders of the World from a shortlist of 200 stunning monuments. In 2007, the winners were announced: the Great Wall of China, The Colosseum in Rome, Petra in Jordan, Machu Picchu in Peru, Chichen Itza in Mexico, the Taj Mahal in India, and Christ the Redeemer in Brazil.

Here are our favorite instagram photos of the New7Wonders of the World.

The Great Wall of China never ceases to take my breath away. The sheer scale of the mighty fortification defies comprehension, and the varied terrains across which it snakes make each trip a new experience. Last year in May, I was lucky enough to hike from Jinshanling to Simatai West with Great Wall Hiking on a brilliantly clear and warm spring day. This picture was snapped on that day. I visited Huanghuacheng this year on a cold and foggy afternoon and was similarly amazed. Which section should I check out next?

#petra is a historical and archaeological city in southern #Jordan. The city is famous for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system. Another name for Petra is the Rose City due to the color of the stone out of which it is carved. I photographed #petra while i had a travel with @visitjordan in 2015 🐪
